Mile is a Rapper and Songwriter born in Sapele, Nigeria to an Austrian father and a Nigerian mother. He spent his early childhood until the age of 8 in Nigeria, as a result his European roots gave him privileges and disadvantages at the same time, his family was very wealthy for Nigerian standards but his bright skin color made it difficult for him to be accepted as a true African in his community. Expierencing this inequality in wealth and skin color at his young age gave him a distinct sense of righteousness. After two years of alternate schooling in Austria and Nigeria, his family decided to send Mile to Austria permanently due to more promising perspectives and better education. Mile lived at his grandparents and his uncles house for some years till his parents moved to Austria to stay together under one roof.
In Highschool Mile wrote his first lines but stopped pursuing his development as a rapper and instead chose to play football, he got to know Mad-Trigz who would produce some of his early tracks years later after Mile had dropped out of college because of his excessive lifestyle and a fatal knee injury which forced him to end his athletic career.
Due to lack of perspective Mile began to write lyrics again while steadily improving his voice and rap skills allthough it was hard for him to get proper beats as a rapper in Austria but he eventually got some tracks together and gave his first show as a supporting act at the legendery, electronic music club Niesenberger in Graz. By accident the music journalist and DJ Lucia Laggner stumbled over some seconds of rare footage of this show that where uploaded online by a mutual friend. Weeks later, they got to know each other in person at the same friend‘s party where she encouraged him to send his songs to Graz based independent music label Tiefparterre Records. After hearing some of Mile’s tracks, Tiefparterre Records decided to sign him as an artist.
OFFICIAL ALBUM RELEASE DATE: MAY 25TH, 2015
ITUNES PRE-ORDER: MAY 4TH, 2015
The single release from the album, the dark and intense rap track “Syrup“, produced by Restless Leg Syndrome, was his first screamer as a solo artist, critically acclaimed by US music magazine Earmilk.
Mile’s upcoming debut album Apple Juice And Lemon Trees is an extension of his personality and experiences, combining his african roots, social dedication, personal frustration, punctured humor and pure rap. Mile manages to close the gap between consciousness and roughness breaking with the cliche of the common rapper.
